Operator window hangs (freezes) during chat

Facing a problem while chatting with user. if the user and the operator types simultaneously  then the operator window (text area) hangs after the user enters the chat.
Operating System: windows -XP.
Browsers: Chrome, Firefox

We are also facing the similar issue.
Please let us know how to resolve it.
