Hi there

I have a strange problem with Mibew Messenger not opening up correctly from my homepage.

If you visit my site http://afrodigital.co.uk and click 'Support' at the top right you will see the Mibew Messenger button, however when you click it you will get a "Forbidden" error message. If you navigate to another page and click it, it works properly although it's exactly the same widget. Then if you navigate back to the homepage and try again - it works!

I have found that when you first try, the link in the address bar looks like:

https://afrodigital.co.uk/livechat/client.php?locale=en&url=http%3A//afrodigital.co.uk/&referrer=

i.e. it has no referrer URL. From other pages there is always a referrer URL, e.g.

https://afrodigital.co.uk/livechat/client.php?locale=en&url=http%3A//afrodigital.co.uk/&referrer=http%3A//afrodigital.co.uk/faq

Have you got any idea what is causing this? Have I missed an option in the settings somewhere?

Thanks!

Your problem is not related to Mibew. Just try to add the string "?referrer=" to any URL on your site and you'll get the same 403 error. You should check your server configuration

I managed to resolve this.

The problem was that I had been hosting Mibew messenger on a subdomain before and used the FQDN in the button generator. When I moved it to a simple folder I generated the button in the same way but actually I should not have included the site URL as it was local.

If anybody else has the same problem with the referrer issue try checking whether you need the url in the button code or not.

Well, I'm glad that you've solved your problem. :)

However, the problem with URLs on your site is still there. Actually, it's possible to get 403 error by adding any GET-parameter without value (use '?a=' for example) to any URL on your site. Except for the front page showing "Apache 2 Test Page" in this case.

Actually, it seems I hadn't resolved it.  :'(
The 4th computer I tried it from exhibited the same issue.

Faf, I will look deeper into your suggestion, thanks.

Hello,

I am having the same problem like TeeDev, Mibew works on all sections of the site unless the home because it adds code to pop up unexpectedly "referrer".

TeeDev, I visited your website and work perfect on the home, how did you solved?

Thanks
