Anyone interested in a native iOS app for the operator?
« on: October 07, 2015, 06:33:41 PM »
Hello guys,

The Mibew live chat platform is available as a web-based platform. Although one can use their mobile browsers to chat with website visitors, there may be a need for a native client on mobile devices. I wanted to find out if anyone on board is interested in such a client for Apple's iOS platform. I would have loved to take a poll but it doesn't seem like this message board supports polling.

An Android client that works with Mibew 2.x has been released and is available in the play store (see this post https://mibew.org/forums/index.php/topic,191920.0.html). We are gauging if there is interest in an iOS version. Let me know thoughts.

I would like for an iOS app to exist so I can have options for employees who are Apple users.

I would also like it if the Android version was updated to support Mibew 2.x :)

Also feel free to make in-app upgrade. I would prefer if the features aren't crippled of course but I do want to pay for the work involved with making these apps.

My ideal situation:

1. free to use (open source preferred)
2. free to deploy in scale
3. in-app upgrade to purchase the app for each user who becomes a permanent employee. (temps aren't someone I'd purchase for)

This would be for Android and iOS . . . if both existed I would deploy this quite a lot.

Edit: Oh just found this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scalior.wurrd excited to try this. :)

Edit 2: holy crap you did make an iOS version, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wurrd/id1017128684?mt=8

You have already found Android app for Mibew 2.x ;). I had to rebrand since I decided not to opensource the solution for now and what better time than with the transition to Mibew 2.x. I should work on notifying all MibewMobile users of the availability of the new app.

1. free to use (open source preferred)
2. free to deploy in scale
3. in-app upgrade to purchase the app for each user who becomes a permanent employee. (temps aren't someone I'd purchase for)
1. Check, but not open source
2. Check, but can't guarantee scale. The apps are still in beta with features still missing. We're getting there.
3. When the apps can serve you and the community well, my bank wouldn't refuse your $$$ ;D ;D

Edit 2: holy crap you did make an iOS version, https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wurrd/id1017128684?mt=8
iOS has been a challenge but overall works. Steve and his crew in Cupertino are not big fans of background processing & multitasking.
