LDAP or AD Authenication
« on: October 21, 2009, 03:08:03 PM »
I'm looking to use Mibew at our university to provide support to faculty and students on our intranet. Unfortunately my superiors require that anyone using live chat must be able to authenticate via ldap or ad so we can collect the correct information about the user.

I noticed  a couple posts on here that mention LDAP authentication, one of which had a solution, but was not viewable or explained in any detail.

I was wondering if someone could help me out with implementing this task?

If this system works it would be available to thousands of students on a daily basis and be extremely useful for others who stumble upon Mibew in the future.

Another option is if it could some how pull the username from the system in addition to the IP address thus voiding the need for the user to authenticate again as they already do that when the log into a system with in our intranet.

So something in the preferences like <name>_<ip>_<username>
