Is it possible to notify the operator visually when there's a new live chat?

Ideally blinking the HTML title or the CSS page favicon.

Is it possible to turn off the notification that the operator is typing?

Simplest way is to create a custom chat style (https://docs.mibew.org/theming.html#-a-name-chat-window-a-theming-chat-window) with an empty appropriate template: client_side/chat/status/typing.handlebars
