Short-range development plan (milestones)
Maybe one is wondering what’s going on with Mibew Messenger 2.0 and when it will reach the beta state. Here is the answer.
First of all, in the near future we plan to release one alpha release each month. The alpha.3 will arrive in the next couple of weeks (most probably — next week).
After this release we’ll try to unify the server-side and the client-side templates to make themes development much more convenient and easy. This changes will appear in the alpha.4 release (probably in the mid-October).
At the very same time we’ll publish a short guide for the themes developers. After that event one will be able to create custom themes for chat and/or administrative interface without worries that it will be somehow incompatible with the stable Mibew Messenger 2.0.0 once it will be released.
Next milestone (i.e. alpha.5) probably will be reached in the mid-November. That release will include the refactoring of the code related to Mibew API. Also we’ll probably rename it to Mibew RPC and move it into the separate repository.
The final milestone in this year is set on December (one can consider it as a Christmas / New Year gift). The alpha.6 release will include the plugins manager and a tool for smooth and convenient update of Mibew.
Finally, we hope that Mibew Messenger 2.0.0-beta.1 will be released in January, 2015.
So, that’s the plan. 🙂
